Ann and Lyman H. Bond

The museum’s Carousel and its care are dedicated to the memory of Ann Bond.
Lyman and Ann Bond’s long and supportive relationship with The Children’s Museum began with Ann’s selection as a member of the Children’s Museum Guild in the Guild Class of 1967. Their daughter, Laura Bond Villanyi, subsequently became a member of the Children’s Museum Guild in the Class of 1992. During her term as member of the Children’s Museum Guild, Ann Bond served in a variety of leadership roles including as Haunted House Co-Chair (1970),  Vice President (1972–73), President (1973–74), and Guild Associate Representative (1982–83).

Throughout their lifetimes, Lyman and Ann Bond were very generous in their support of both the Guild and museum, culminating in a $1 million pledge in 2000 to name the Carousel in honor of Ann, who had died in 1998. Lyman survived Ann for 12 years, generously supporting the museum until his passing in 2010.
