Being an award-winning museum is about engaging visitors, but it’s equally about serving our community. In 2014 we strengthened ties by kicking off a cradle-to-career educational initiative for the Mid-North neighborhoods, and offering free and reduced admission programs so that all families could enjoy our transformative learning experiences. Among the extraordinary results: 8-year-old Spencer Hahn, whose life has been transformed by the museum, was named one of two Great American Museum Advocates by the Alliance of American Museums.
The museum has been a stabilizing influence in the Mid-North neighborhoods, according to our 2014 Economic Impact Study.
Our free admission days and free and reduced admission programs help make our award-winning museum accessible for all.
Our StarPoint Summer Camp offered 76 Mid-North neighborhood children an affordable, engaging, and curriculum-based summer learning experience.
